Quick answers

The essentials at a glance.

What is AMOS?

AMOS GmbH is a stamp manufacturer based in Schwerin and one of the largest in Germany. With 46 employees at four locations and production in Schwerin and Cologne, AMOS makes more than 3,000 custom stamps every day for key accounts, industry and office supply retailers. AMOS is part of AMOS Group GmbH.

Where can I order company stamps for my business?

Businesses order directly from AMOS: by email to info@amos-stempel.de or via the main shop stempel.de. Do you need stamps regularly? Then we will put together a custom stamp catalogue or shop with you and agree the ordering route, interface and invoicing. Alternatively, you can order through a dealer that works with AMOS.

How fast does AMOS deliver?

Orders are produced within 48 hours on working days; items in stock are usually delivered within 1 to 3 working days. The aim is always to ship on the day of the order. Up to 1,600 shipments leave production in Schwerin and Cologne every day.

Can I order a stamp with my logo?

Yes. Logos and templates can be uploaded or simply photographed with your phone; the configurator automatically converts them into a single-colour design suitable for stamping. If needed, an AMOS designer will help you with the design via live support.

AMOS order entry system, Schwerin

01 / 07

Order entry

Every order is entered in the AMOS system before production. This makes it possible to track each order in full from receipt to dispatch, internally in the company and externally for customers via the AMOS tracking website.

While the stamp is being typeset, the item lists (mounts, blanks) for assembly are already being created. All system components are networked and integrated, so all data only has to be entered once and is then available everywhere.

AMOS typesetting department, Schwerin

02 / 07

Typesetting

In the typesetting department, the stamp layout is designed with care. The typesetting system is linked to the order software, so the layout data (dimensions, text, preview of the imprint) is transferred to it automatically.

Stamp production using laser technology

03 / 07

Laser production

AMOS has a modern production facility. Various processes are used to manufacture a wide range of products for the stamp market:

  • Laser technology (Trotec)
  • Flash production (Colop EOS, Modico)

Since 2011, AMOS has also been using Trotec Laserati systems. A dedicated laser room was set up for them, and a sophisticated ventilation and extraction system provides a clean working environment.

Assembly department, Schwerin

04 / 07

Assembly

Special workstations have been created in assembly. The work tables are set at standing height for healthy working. Some tables are electrically height-adjustable so that every employee can set up their workstation ergonomically.

Stamp warehouse, Schwerin

05 / 07

Warehouse

The AMOS warehouse is one of the largest in the stamp industry. The aim is to ship goods on the day they are ordered. That is why ink pads, for example, are always in stock in large quantities and in every colour, as are less frequently requested items such as numbering stamps.

Final inspection in Schwerin

06 / 07

Final inspection

In final inspection, products are pre-sorted for dispatch and checked again very carefully. A dedicated web application allows products to be removed or added afterwards. The error rate at AMOS is currently just 1.2%. In other words, 98.8% of all custom-made orders are delivered correctly. If mistakes do occur, we always settle them generously.

Every day, many stamps are shipped all over the world.

07 / 07

Shipping with service

Every day, more than 800 shipments leave the Schwerin plant and another 800 leave Cologne. Most of the more than 1,500 stamp products sent out daily are packed and shipped on behalf of the many dealers and online shops. Delivery notes and shipping labels are generated individually in the dealer’s name.

E-commerce

Digital Marketing Sales

In the e-commerce competence centre, eight employees look after customers in the various online shops during the day. AMOS provides a complete service here for a number of office supply retailers. In the stamp shop, end customers can contact an employee of the e-commerce department directly by hotline and chat. Advice is often given in the dealer’s name.

Frequently asked questions

More questions and answers.

Can’t find your question? Call us on +49 385 67672-0 or write to info@amos-stempel.de.

Is AMOS an experienced and reputable stamp manufacturer?

Yes. AMOS was founded in 2004 as a merger of the long-established companies A. Mosthaf (founded 1905) and Hagedorn & Dänicke (founded 1885) and started operations in February 2005. SGS Gmähle (founded 1960) and Lerp & Co (founded 1985) joined in 2018. The aim was to join forces, move production out of the cities and secure market leadership for the long term. In 2014, the international trade magazine Marking Industry named AMOS “Manufacturer of the Year”. Today AMOS runs its own web shops in France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria and has a subsidiary in Denmark, AMOS Denmark. AMOS is a partner of all major purchasing groups in the office supplies trade and a member of the Trodat Premium Partner programme. The company is also active in European trade associations and supports Aegraflex and the Flexografen.

Can I pay by invoice when ordering from AMOS?

Yes. In addition to payment in advance, PayPal and credit card, you can order on account and pay by invoice. Invoices are due 14 days after the invoice date.

Can stamps be ordered via SAP or a purchasing system?

Yes. AMOS offers a closed e-procurement shop with punch-out connection to SAP/R3 and return via the OCI interface. Available products, fonts and logo layouts are set up for each customer, and every order shows the finished imprint as a proof.

How does AMOS work with dealers?

Dealers receive the AMOS main catalogue with recommended retail prices, Stempelshop 4.0 free of charge and neutral drop shipping with the dealer’s delivery note and logo. AMOS is a partner of Soennecken, PBS-Deutschland, Büroring and DUO Schreib & Spiel and is listed in e-catalogues such as IBX, Ariba and Onventis.

Can I track the status of my stamp order?

Yes. With AMOS order tracking, customers and dealers can see at any time where an order is, from receipt to delivery. Once typesetting is done, a preview of the stamp imprint is already visible. The tracking ID with a link to the logistics partner completes the service.

Trodat or Colop – which stamp brand is better?

Both manufacturers offer high-quality self-inking stamps for the office and industry; which one suits you depends on the imprint size, how often you stamp and what you use it for. AMOS makes text plates for stamp products from Trodat, Colop and other brands and gives brand-independent advice.

Self-inking stamp or classic stamp with ink pad – which is better?

For everyday office use with frequent stamping, a self-inking stamp is usually the better choice: the ink pad is built in and the imprint is clean and quick. Classic wooden or hand stamps with a separate ink pad are suitable for large imprints, changing colours and special inks.

Where can I reorder text plates and replacement pads?

AMOS supplies replacement text plates and replacement ink pads for Trodat, Colop and Reiner directly or via your dealer. Ink pads in all colours are always in stock so that they can be shipped on the day of the order.

What must a company stamp contain?

In Germany there is no legal requirement to have a company stamp, so there are no mandatory contents either. A company stamp usually shows the company name with its legal form, the address, telephone, email or website and often the logo; depending on its use, bank details or the VAT identification number are added.
